MAVO Muse Award Recipient

MAVO Muse award a crystal teardrop shape with concentric colours from clear through blues to red at the top is pictured against a Virginia coastline sunsetAt the Midatlantic Voiceover Conference November 2023, founder Val Kelly presented me with what is arguably the most heartfelt award in the industry. The MAVO Muse Award is given for “outstanding contribution to the voice over community”. While I’m always seeking to give back, support and elevate fellow voice actors and others in this industry, it is not something anyone expects to be recognised for. This beautiful award is a reminder that people do notice, and you do make a difference. Not shown: public blubbering and many hugs. I miss you Val!

Audiofile Review: The Egyptian Princess – A Story of Hagar by KD Holmberg

Rachel’s performance adds a deeper level to Hagar’s story. Her careful pacing adds gravity to Hagar’s world. By breathing life into the residents of the pharaoh’s court, she ensnares the listener. As she deftly switches between their voices, including their accents, she captures the personalities of both major and minor characters. Rachel’s narration makes this production well worth the listen. [Published: SEPTEMBER 2022]

Audiofile Review: Suddenly Mrs. Darcy

Suddenly Mrs Darcy by Jenetta JamesBook cover with script title Suddenly Mrs Darcy and a regency lady standing on a hilltop looking down at a grand manor house

Narrator Lillian Rachel does an excellent job bringing to life this twist on Jane Austen’s PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. …Rachel captures each character with a distinct voice and British accent, making each easily recognizable. Her timbre, and acting abilities remain front and center. … This is a lovely listen, beautifully narrated and well acted. A.C.P. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2021]
